For those looking for a generalist, South Dublin Home Improvements may be the company for you. They’re an all-around contractor who provides an extensive list of services for every room in the house.
They are a team of tradespeople, and I was quite impressed that they have long-lasting connections with suppliers.
Another unique aspect of their service is the creation of customised designs, which many of their clients agree are exceptional.
They have an in-house team of carpenters, roofing experts, and painters that can provide a large number of services.
A few noteworthy services that caught my attention are the installation of wooden floors, waterproofing, and partition installation. For outside the house, they offer composite decking, gutter cleaning, and chimney removals.
Aside from these, they offer generalist services as well. Some noteworthy services include house washing, power washing, and rubbish removal.
Their main contractor, Adam, even provided valuable insight into each project we discussed. This shows how the team here really offer the full range of services they claim.
However, I found it disappointing that they tend to work with smaller-scale projects rather than larger ones.

What drew me in was their team of engineers and architects who were ready to assist in the planning and construction of home improvements.
I found them to be an excellent choice for anyone needing extensive electronics installations, particularly if you’re considering solar panels. They also offer innovative renovation solutions, including rainwater harvesting systems.
Many of their clients enjoyed working with Damien and Arunas, the very hands-on co-owners of AD Home Improvements. Some clients stated that they provided valuable advice and were instrumental in the success of their projects.
There were also quite a few that claimed that the pair were able to finish their projects far earlier than the initial timeline that they provided.
One factor that might make you reconsider working with them is that they’re a fairly new business. While 2009 is already almost 15 years old, other companies out there are far older with a longer list of testimonials.

I found their services to be quite extensive as they provide roof work and gutter work. Aside from these, they also offer driveway restorations, as well as patio and paving installations.
They also provide a wide range of services for each category. For roofing, the highlight was fascia and soffit replacement. As for driveways, I found their eco-friendly driveways, as well as their resin-bound driveways, to be great, cost-effective services.
When it comes to patios and paving, they offer unique services such as natural stone and granite paving, all of which are great options to enhance your garden.
Another great option they provide is the installation of several types of artificial grass, perfect for those who find it difficult to upkeep their lawns.
However, their team is quite small compared to others, so you may encounter a waiting process before they can start working for you.

“I had a wooden fence installed two years ago. The workmanship was appalling, despite a very high price being paid for the work. The fence was nor properly secured. One large part was leaning over and I really feared that the fence would be totally uprooted by the wind as it would shake and groan when there was a storm. I contacted Bernard from Stonemac. He reinforced it by using bolts and extra supports. It is now stable and unshakable. Bernard and his son were efficient and reliable. Bernard offered to trim the edges of my lawn and he also promised to bring a chain saw to shave down the stump of a tree. These two additional tasks did not incur an extra cost. I appreciate Bernard’s courtesy and expertise. From my positive experience, I would recommend Bernard.

Unlike other services, this firm is quite open about its hourly rates.
They offer flooring, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and even landlord services to all of their clients. A few of their services include installation of hardwood flooring, ceiling fans, and painting/wallpapering services.
Aside from these, they also provide full-on attic conversions, kitchen renovations, and even bathroom renovations, with all the aforementioned services attached to each.
One unique aspect of HIM’s home improvements is that the team is also a handyman.
They can repair almost anything in the house, and they even offer electrical repairs for broken appliances.
However, HIM is more of a generalist company rather than a specialist one, which can impact the quality of work when compared to specialty services on the same price point.

As for their home improvements, from the projects that I’ve seen, many of their designs are highly specialised. Each project also felt unique and special.
The main selling point that got them to be as popular as they are is their extensive aftercare services. They have unlimited replacements, repairs, and service callouts for up to 20 years.
They also have aftercare services that provide repairs if your home ever gets robbed.
Their referral programme is also top-notch. Yes, successful referrals earn previous customers a €300 gift of thanks from the company.
The only drawback many clients have experienced is the difficulty in communicating and interacting with staff, particularly with their after-sales service.
