I’m sure we’ve all been there before. A leaky roof is something that nobody wants, but we somehow get it at the worst times. Especially with how volatile Dublin’s weather is, nobody wants to be the person with a leaky roof during a storm.
But fixing leaky roofs isn’t all that roof contractors do. I have needed to replace my roof over the past few years due to several reasons. While it may sound like a simple job, you wouldn’t want just anyone to do it.
The good thing is, over the years, I’ve discovered some of the best roofing contractors in Dublin to handle all your roofing needs. Read on, you might find this especially helpful.

D. Hennessy Roofing was the company I contacted when I first had roof problems. It certainly was made easy, thanks to Darren, the owner, and his team.
I had the typical leaky roof, and they helped with it. They explained everything that I needed to know, such as why the roof leaked in the first place and the variety of options that I had at my disposal.
They initially provided me with a Drone Roof Inspection to fully survey my entire roof. This was a great experience, as it showed me all the little weak spots my roof has had over the years.
It’s also nice that they provided me with two choices: either patch up the roof or install an entirely new one. With great advice, I was able to decide to simply replace my entire roof.
My only real complaint about the experience was that they were not as responsive as I had hoped during the initial emails.

Allguard Roofing has been in Dublin for over 54 years, and has been a tried and true roofing contractor for many in the city. I find them to be quite reliable, especially since they’re a member of the National Guild of Master Craftsmen.
Their services are extensive. Some notable highlights are roof installation, flat roof repairs, and even commercial/factory roofing.
Another noteworthy service is their lead and copper roofing, which is far more durable than typical roofs.
They’re also one of the few businesses to offer emergency roof repairs, which many of their clients and testimonials claim to be reliable and prompt.
I highly commend them for their free callout and estimates, which are done by certified registered contractors with no hidden charges.
One of the more interesting aspects of their business is that they provide a full 30-year warranty, which is something that other businesses can’t compete with.
However, there have been reports of them being difficult to contact during peak hours or after a strong storm. John, the owner, claims it is due to an influx of customers, as they can only work with so many clients.

Pat and his crew at the Irish Roofers are a good all-rounder company for those looking for roof work. They’ve been with Dublin since the 1970s and have been one of the more popular options since.
I like that they try their best to tailor their work to each unique project and their affordable workmanship.
They provide roof repairs and maintenance. They also have emergency roof repairs, as well as asbestos removal from roofs.
As for roof installation, they offer a range of options. This includes traditional slate and tile roofs, as well as speciality roofs such as asphalt roofing and liquid waterproofing for roofs.
They are also a registered C2 roofing contractor and a member of the Construction Industry Federation and the Roofing and Cladding Contractors Association.
Their insurance and warranty policy is top-notch. They have a 30-year guarantee on new roofs and a 5-year guarantee on roof repairs. They even have employer and public liability insurance, which clients found reliable.

One of the more popular contractors I found was Roofing Experts & Co Ltd. They’re a team that specialises in flat roofs, which is quite uncommon as far as I’ve seen. I also learned that they mainly use environmentally friendly materials.
They provide free quotations with free assessments, which isn’t something other companies can offer.
They are known for performing a wide range of roofing services, including slate and tile installations, as well as the installation of VELUX skylights.
They even repair Fascias and Soffits, which isn’t a service that most of the others I’ve seen provide.
For their flat roof materials, they use either natural or fibre cement. For those seeking an environmentally friendly option, there is reclaimed natural slate.
I had a talk with David, one of the project directors at Roofing Experts, and while I appreciated their expertise, they were a bit expensive compared to what they claim.
Despite this, they are upfront about their insurance certifications, with public liability insurance that guarantees replacement for 10 to 15 years for installations and 12 months for repair work.
It’s also great to note that they’re a member of the National Guild of Master Craftsmen.

The most unique option from them is their Green Roofs, also known as sedum installations. These are roofs that have living vegetation integrated into them, which makes them completely waterproof.
Aside from these, I also appreciate that they provide services for both residential and commercial buildings, working with materials such as slate, asphalt, and flat roofs. They also have speciality options such as lead, copper, and zinc roofs.
If you’re looking for emergency repairs, they also provide great 24/7 emergency roofing services.
Another noteworthy point is that they also offer asbestos removal and liquid waterproofing. Both of which are particularly valuable for clients considering roof replacements.
When it comes to insurance and warranty, they’re fully covered with over €6 million in insurance, and they’re also completely tax-compliant.
My only gripe is that they have a fairly long waitlist for non-emergency projects, which other clients have also noted.
