Top 5 kitchen renovation services in Dublin serving a fresh style

Reputation: I went for businesses that have a great reputation, as kitchens are a unique part of the house that needs dedicated renovation services.

Photo Samples: I looked for businesses that have great samples, as these can give me great insight into their designs.

Range of Designs: I chose designers who could provide a range of options, allowing me to create a unique and bespoke kitchen that isn’t a carbon copy from a magazine.

Price Transparency: Kitchen renovations are expensive. As such, I went for businesses that are transparent about their prices and don’t have any hidden fees or charges.

Clear Timeline: I went for businesses that offer a clear timeline when it comes to their work.

Who doesn’t love a modern kitchen? I was certainly sceptical of the idea of a modern kitchen when I initially moved to my most recent house. I didn’t see the appeal. But after having my kitchen remodelled, I’ve opened my eyes to its many benefits.

A modern kitchen offers modern solutions and conveniences to your daily needs. An automatic ice maker and a sizable oven that saves you on gas and electricity—these are the kinds of changes you can expect.

That’s why I’ve pooled some of the best kitchen renovation services in Dublin for you to peruse. These are tried and tested by both friends and family, so you can be sure that these businesses are ones that you can highly trust.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Dublin?

A kitchen renovation in Dublin typically costs between €5,000 and €25,000. This cost will cover the materials and the labour of the renovation, but this can still easily increase or decrease depending on your contractor.

Kitchen World has over 4 different offices across the entirety of Dublin County, namely one in Dublin City, in Finglas, in Swords, and one in Sandyford.

I was intrigued by their claim to have set a benchmark for high-quality kitchen renovations in Dublin. While this is a substantial claim, it seems most of their clients are satisfied with their work.

Among their designs, four main categories stood out to me. These are German Kitchens, Classic Kitchens, Modern Kitchens, and Traditional Kitchens.

They are also partnered with popular brands. A few of them being Electrolux, Bosch, AEG, and Nordmende. There’s also a financing firm called Humm that helps customers with finances for their new kitchen.

As for showrooms, they have ones available nationwide, which you can visit after contacting them.

I like that they provide free consultations and quotations. However, keep in mind that they are an expensive service.

Pros

  • Has four main design categories
  • Free consultation
  • Free in-store appointment
  • Available showrooms nationwide
  • Works with popular brands
  • Provides bedroom renovations

Cons

  • Expensive compared to most companies
  • Claims of subpar quality of renovations

The whole process was seamless

“I would highly recommend Kitchen World. Michelle in Long Mile Road had some fantastic suggestions for layout that I would never have though of! I particularly love the colour of the units and I get great compliments on them. The whole process was seamless. The people recommended by kitchen world for the electrics and plumbing were great and reliable. I was particularly pleased with a suggestion by Alan who fitted the kitchen for a little hidden cupboard above the fridge that would have been a dead space otherwise. Genius! All in all really happy with the service and the Kitchen!”

Excellent value kitchens

“Lianne from Kitchen World was amazing to deal with. She designed the kitchen we wanted with ease and gave us great advice on how to maximise space/design. Highly recommend her to anyone. Alan who fitted the kitchen was great to deal with also, a true professional. Excellent value kitchens. 5 stars all round”

With over 40 years of experience, QK Living has made a name for itself in Dublin’s kitchen renovation scene. They have worked on over 2000 kitchens and have had over 10,000 residences completed.

I found the brochure on their website to be helpful. It provided me with valuable insight into their process.

However, while they do have a selection of styles, most projects end up being a hybrid of many different ones. Still, I got drawn by their manufacturing process, as they build everything in Dublin.

Aside from that, their general process is unique. Their design consultants meet with you for the first step. The consultant will factor in budget, measurements, and the client’s wishlist to craft a plan that fits the project.

QK Living also offers a wide selection of bedroom wardrobes, which I find quite charming.

Yet again, some clients have reported difficulty in booking an appointment. While I can’t confirm or deny these claims, it would be best to keep this in mind before deciding to work with them.

Pros

  • Partnered with known brands
  • Over 40 years of experience
  • Customizable plans
  • Manufactures everything in Dublin
  • Has bedroom wardrobes for sale
  • Clients work with design consultants
  • Factors in budgets, measurements, and the client’s wishlist

Cons

  • Quite expensive rates
  • Booking difficulty

Everything was perfect

“We have just had a new kitchen designed and fitted by QK living. The service was excellent from start to finish. We met Jenny Walsh on our first visit and she looked after us all the way through. She came up with great design ideas and finishes and was so helpful and friendly to deal with. The prices were very competitive and the kitchen was fitted on the date agreed. Tony from QK living called regularly during the fitting and also at the end to make sure everything was perfect. We are delighted with every aspect of the kitchen. Would highly recommend QK living.”

Just got my dream kitchen

“I have recently just got my dream kitchen from QK Living. The whole experience from walking through the showrooms to design to the professional installation was fantastic. The expertise and design knowledge from Devina was amazing, she listened to our ideas and came up with a design that worked for our space and that looked amazing. Can highly recommend Devina and QK Living. If you want a high quality kitchen and design expertise go to QK Living.”

Newcastle Design creates some of the most timeless and elegant kitchens. They offer handcrafted pieces, such as cabinets, that provide a unique feel to each of their kitchens.

I appreciate that their online brochure provided me with a clear sense of what to expect when working with them. It was also great to note that they provided work for clients across the country.

Another noteworthy thing is that they have showrooms that have design teams on-site for you to converse with when visiting them.

The thing that caught my eye is that aside from the kitchen, they also work on pantries and wine rooms. Both of which feature contemporary modernity that is uniquely their own.

I was also intrigued by their laundry room, home libraries, and even dressing room renovations. All of which carry the same luxury that their kitchen renovations have.

However, despite advising that a project will take around 12 to 14 weeks, a few clients have reported that the firm exceeded this timeline.

Pros

  • Handcrafted furniture
  • Customizable projects
  • Contemporary and modern aesthetics
  • Works on kitchens, pantries, and wine rooms
  • The team works closely with the client
  • Provides an online brochure
  • Provides services across the entire country

Cons

  • Reports of exceeding the allotted timeline
  • Only does full kitchen renovations

Workmanship was faultless

“Ronan, Phillip and the team did an incredible job on our new kitchen. We had given a brief which they fulfilled to perfection. Every detail in the process was carefully planned and executed with perfect timing and the quality of the workmanship was faultless. Clive and his team then finished the work with their amazing painting skills and topped off the kitchen units with a gorgeous coving. I would highly recommend Newcastle design for your home projects and can’t wait to show off our space to friends and family. Thanks for everything

Michael and Anne”

Incredible and has that wow factor

“Absolutely loved working with Newcastle. As soon as I emailed them a meet greet was set up within a few days. I found with other kitchen companies you could be waiting weeks for the initial meet and greet, which is a lot of time when you’re under pressure to get work done. From the very get go, RoNan and the team just ‘Got’ what we wanted. Nothing was an issue and I really valued their honesty when it came to helping us cut costs in certain areas etc. Our bespoke kitchen is incredible and has that wow factor. Thank you so much.”

If you’re looking for a service that specialises in kitchens while also providing services for other parts of the home, Kube Kitchens might be the company for you. With over 50 years of service, they are a preferred choice for many.

I went for Kube for one main reason: their so-called ‘Kube Process’. This is an 8-step process that you’ll follow when working with them.

The highlights of this process are the kitchen planner and the design step, which involves direct communication with the client and their designers to create a kitchen tailored to your liking.

I was also pleased to hear that they have showrooms available across Ireland, in places such as Rathgar, Long Mile Road, Galway, and Cork.

Aside from kitchens, they also provide services for bedroom and living room renovations, which all have the unique Kube flair.  They even sell bespoke beds, sofas, stools, chairs, and armchairs to accompany your bedroom and living room renovations.

However, there have been numerous complaints with their after-sales services, particularly regarding warranty claims for appliances.

Pros

  • Over 50 years of experience
  • Unique Kube Process
  • Has showrooms across the country
  • Informative staff
  • Offers bedroom and living room renovations
  • Sells bespoke bedroom and living room furniture

Cons

  • Difficulty with after-sales services

It is a visual showstopper

“From the outset, Ray was exceptionally accommodating and patient, expertly guiding us through the selection process to ensure we found the ideal style and colour for our kitchen. His knowledge extended to countertops and appliances, and he offered invaluable insights on flooring options as well.

The fitting team was outstanding. They arrived early, were pleasant to work with, and demonstrated a commendable level of diversity, comprising both male and female team members. Their attention to cleanliness was also appreciated. When they noticed a small mark on one of the units, they promptly brought it to our attention and arranged for a replacement without any hassle.

Now that we have had our kitchen for three months, I can confidently say there isn’t a single thing I would change. The design is tailored perfectly to how we use the space, making it incredibly functional. Moreover, it is a visual showstopper! I highly recommend Kube for anyone looking to create their dream kitchen. Thank you, Ray and the entire team, for making this experience so enjoyable!”

Always to the highest standard

“From start to finish Jackie expertly guided us through the planning and design of our kitchen. So efficient and easy to deal with -we couldn’t be happier. Always very helpful and professional and was always at the end of a phone if we had any queries. Her attention to detail and customer service was always to the highest standard. Thanks Jackie for all your help with your project. Highly recommended!”

I’ve always believed that kitchens should be functional before considering aesthetics, and it seems that BeSpace shares the same principles. They focus on creating functional, yet aesthetically pleasing kitchens, bedrooms, and living spaces.

I found their selection of designs to be good, ranging from contemporary to classic ones. I like that they don’t have set designs for you to work with, as they follow a philosophy that aims to provide a unique experience for each customer.

They even have a kitchen planner on their website, which just adds to the uniqueness of your eventual designs.

Another noteworthy aspect is that they’re one of the few companies that I’ve seen that work with commercial buildings rather than only catering to residential ones.

I especially loved visiting one of their projects in Howth, where a rustic design was beautifully blended with contemporary elements.

As for old appliances, they’re great at integrating these into builds, which is superb for those looking to save money.

However, due to the highly customisable designs, they are quite expensive compared to others.

Pros

  • Functional kitchens
  • Integrates old appliances
  • Useful kitchen planner on their website
  • Informative and helpful staff
  • Offers bedroom and living room renovation
  • Has visitable projects across Ireland

Cons

  • Expensive compared to other companies

We were thrilled with the end result

“We would highly recommend BeSpace, from the welcome when you walk into their beautiful showroom, to the expertise and craftmanship of the cabinets. Kathryn did an amazing job designing and advising us on all the measurements and details in our kitchen. We are thrilled with the end result. Thank you again to the whole team at BeSpace!”
