These 5 dry cleaners in Dublin took care of my delicate fabrics

Cleaning Methods: I went with a dry cleaner that offers a variety of cleaning methods. Specifically, I went for those who have PERC and eco-friendly dry cleaning options.

Facilities and Equipment: I sought out dry cleaners who have sufficient facilities and equipment. Those who have washers and dryers to accompany their dry cleaning were given top priority.

Specialisation in Garment Types: I chose dry cleaners that work with a variety of garment types, such as silk and linen.

Timeline of Services: I picked dry cleaners whose services are timely. Dry cleaning can take a while, but it shouldn’t take more than two days.

Insurance and Damage Policies: I selected dry cleaners with great insurance and damage policies.

Reviews and Reputation: I considered dry cleaners with strong reviews and reputations.

I always found laundry really hard. Oftentimes, stains leave marks that I couldn’t remove, no matter how hard I tried. This was even worse when it came to my formal wear, which would get ruined if I threw it in the washing machine.

That’s when I realised that Dublin has quite a number of dry cleaners and laundromats that could make things easier. I was genuinely impressed after trying a few, as my shirts returned spotless and impeccably pressed.

After years of using their services, I’ve discovered a few that truly stand out, and I’m excited to share them with you. Here are Dublin’s best dry cleaners that will care for your delicate clothing and make the entire process effortless.

How much does dry cleaning cost in Dublin?

Dry cleaning in Dublin will typically cost between €2.50 and €19.50 per item. This can increase or decrease depending on the type of clothing and the type of fabric. Additionally, the material’s size factors into the cost.

I appreciate that Gardiner Street Dry Cleaners is located in Dublin City Centre, making the commute there quick and easy. They offer more than just dry cleaning—they’re a full-on laundromat.

For dry cleaning, they use PERC, which isn’t anything special but is reliable. I’ve had many items cleaned here, but I often send my suits and dresses because of their low cost at €14 and €17, respectively.

Their laundry services are also extensive. I was really glad to know that they wash, dry, and fold clothes on the same day. Convenience is key here.

However, their cleaning detergents for their dry cleaning and laundry services aren’t allergen-friendly and can irritate.

Whenever I want to save even more time, I opt for their wash-and-iron services. However, it’s worth noting that these cost more, priced between €3 and €5 per item of clothing.

Still, I appreciate that they offer alteration services for all types of clothing, including trousers and jeans.

Pros

  • Located in Dublin City Centre
  • Uses PERC
  • Cheap cost of services
  • Offers ironing services
  • Provides alteration services

Cons

  • Doesn’t use allergen-friendly detergents

Impressed by their flexibility and quick service

“I’ve been relying on this dry cleaner for years, and they consistently exceed my expectations. My clothes are always returned impeccably clean and meticulously cared for. The staff is incredibly professional, polite, and always prioritizes customer satisfaction. I’ve been particularly impressed by their flexibility and quick service for urgent needs, especially for special occasions. Their punctuality and attention to detail are truly commendable. It’s rare to find a place that maintains such high service quality over such a long period. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality, and customer-focused dry cleaner, this is definitely the right place!”

When dealing with larger loads and specialising in working with the hospitality sector, I’d suggest giving Krystal Dry Cleaners a call. They’re a modernised dry cleaning service that utilises up-to-date technologies that they say are up-to-the-minute.

I can’t help but gush about their timeliness. I was easily able to get my clothes on the same day whenever I arrived before 11:00 AM. Whenever I arrive later than that, my clothes will be available the following day.

Additionally, they also dry-clean curtains and sanitise duvets. They even have alteration services, but these take up to 3 days.

They’re also a functioning laundromat and can provide wash/dry/fold services or wash-and-dry-only. These can also be done on the same day. However, I found that loads over 6 kg can’t avail of this offer.

Conveniently, Krystal’s partner hospitality businesses offer special deals and discounts for hotel guests and affiliated companies.

Pros

  • Variety of modernised dry cleaning services
  • Timely services
  • Offers laundromat services
  • Provides services to the hospitality sector
  • Offers alteration services

Cons

  • Turnaround time for larger batches can take days

Amazingly, I was only charged €15

“I can’t say enough good things about Krystal Dry Cleaners. I brought in an expensive down winter jacket that was covered in mold and honestly thought it might be beyond saving. From the very start, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They managed to completely remove the mold, and my jacket was ready in just four days. When I picked it up, they told me they had cleaned it three times, determined not to give up on it. Amazingly, I was only charged €15. This is, without a doubt, the best dry cleaner I’ve ever used!”

– Candi Richards, Google Review

I cannot believe they managed to clean stains completely

“I brought 2 mac jackets in praying they could get a large pen stain out of one and a wine stain out of the other. I cannot believe they managed to clean both stains completely removed for €30 delighted. Very friendly and reasonably priced I will definitely be back.”

What I find particularly fascinating about Excel is that they offer their services to individuals and businesses in Dublin and certain parts of Kildare. They’re so trusted that even brands like Brown Thomas and Louis Copeland work with them.

I was impressed by their dry cleaning services because they use eco-friendly chemicals. Additionally, I appreciate that they use reusable laundry bags that I get to keep.

They’re one of the few places that specialise in dry cleaning wedding dresses, and they offer competitive pricing for this delicate clothing. They even dry-clean formal gowns and costumes, a service I’ve used many times.

When discussing their laundry services, they use custom and eco-friendly detergents that don’t contain bleach. Aside from this, they also offer steam ironing services that are kinder to soft fabrics.

However, because of their eco-friendly approach, their basic services are more expensive than competitors.

Pros

  • Eco-friendly approach
  • Utilises in-house custom detergent
  • Works with a variety of delicate clothing
  • Doesn’t utilise bleach
  • Offers unique steam ironing services

Cons

  • Expensive basic services

I can highly recommend them for all dry cleaning needs

“I dropped my wife’s wedding dress in to be cleaned in December 2017 and I went in yesterday on the off chance that it might still be there. If you can believe it they still had it. We are beyond grateful to them for keeping it for that long. The team were so helpful in trying to locate it and it had been carefully boxed and protected all the time it was with them. Thank you for such an amazing service I can highly recommend them for all your dry cleaning needs, Joanne”

“I got my wedding dress dry cleaned. Everyone was so friendly and gave me lots of tips of how to store my dress and keep it in the best condition. I would definitely recommend”

First Class Eco Cleaners offers fast, clean services. Appropriately, they’re one of my favourite eco-friendly services because they use Electrolux Lagoon Advanced Care for their dry cleaning.

Unlike typical dry cleaners, their service can clean almost anything. I gave them a delicate shirt that had been stained with wine, and it came back to me like it was brand new.

They also offer special dry cleaning that can rejuvenate wedding dresses and handbags. This also applies to shoes, which is something I learned from them.

In addition to these, they also offer laundry services that utilise the same care and eco-friendly practices as their dry-cleaning.

After a few wardrobe mishaps, I came to trust their alterations and repair services. They helped restore zippers or neatly and cleanly sew holes.

However, they’re located near the limits of Dublin City, so expect a long drive.

Pros

  • Eco-friendly dry cleaning
  • Utilises an eco-friendly machine
  • Dry cleans handbags and shoes
  • Offers eco-friendly laundry services
  • Provides alteration and repair services

Cons

  • Located near the limits of Dublin City
  • Expensive services

Unbelievably amazing service

“Unbelievable service. Called in to get a pair of suit trousers fixed. Not only did they repair it on the spot but did it free of charge which I was amazed by. My wife also had her wedding dress cleaned here recently. Any other place she had brought it too refused to attempt to clean it on the basis it was too delicate. Not only were they able to do this but the job was top drawer. I’ll certainly be returning for any of my garment cleaning or repairs.”

– Andy Gordon, Google Review

Their system is great

“I really recommend this laundry! The service was excellent, especially the Brazilian lady who helped me — she was super kind and professional. Their system is great too: you get text updates when your clothes are ready, which makes everything so convenient!”

Located near Dublin City Centre, Harcourt Launderette & Dry Cleaners has been a trusted service for years. Servicing both residential and commercial clients, they aim to breathe new life into clothes.

Their dry cleaning services can clean delicate fabrics, such as silk. A few items they can work on include tuxedo suits and communion dresses. All of these items are hand-finished and are given quality checks before they’re wrapped.

However, these services can take longer than other dry cleaners.

Still, some clients appreciate having the option to do their own laundry. Personally, I appreciate that they charge a small fee per use for detergents and conditioners.

They even offer ironing services, using traditional modern irons that leave clothes crisp.

Aside from these, they also clean household fabrics, like duvets and bedspreads. They can also work on cushion covers and pillows, which I don’t see other dry cleaners offer.

They also offer basic alteration services, including zippers and buttons.
