The 5 best travel agencies in Dublin that can make your vacation a breeze

  • Quality of Listings: We assessed agencies by checking if they offer popular warm destinations, as Ireland can be cold. The best agencies list famous beaches and international spots.
  • Flexibility of Listings: We selected agencies that offer diverse listing terms to cater to different customers. For example, we selected those that facilitate credit card payments or offer discounts for booking tours in specific countries.
  • Booking Terms: Customers often cancel or modify their vacation plans for various reasons, so top agencies should make it easier for them to do so. The ones on our list have favourable cancellation and refund policies.
  • Customer Service: The list below shows agencies that make it easy to contact their representatives or those from the vacation spot to facilitate planning. Also, these travel agencies are always ready and willing to answer queries.

The Irish chill can get tedious, especially after months of working hard at the office. That’s what I felt after a particularly difficult project, so I really wanted to go on a vacation.

I love imagining myself basking in a tropical paradise like Cancun, not planning it. As much as possible, I just want my itinerary booked and set. I just want to go on a flight and relax.

That’s why I looked for the best travel agencies in Dublin to handle my overseas getaway. Check the list below to set your vacation immediately.

How much do travel agency services cost in Dublin?

Believe it or not, travel agency services in Dublin typically cost little to no fees. Often, agents earn commissions from hotels and tour operators, so there’s no need to charge customers.

Do you remember my intro explaining that people like heading to sunny countries during winter? Cassidy Travel appears to understand this behaviour, as they feature Winter Sun Holiday Deals during the chilly season.

The homepage features sunny locations like Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, and Malta. For a low deposit of €75, you can book a vacation to these warm, sandy pieces of paradise.

If you’re not in a sunbathing mood, Cassidy Travel offers numerous alternatives around the world. With over 39 years of experience, they have expanded their coverage.

I rang them, and the representative explained the terms of the holiday deals patiently and kindly. Moreover, they were able to answer my questions.

I also appreciated how they offer packages for sports and events. For example, they can help you book a vacation for an overseas concert or the upcoming F1 race.

No doubt, they are a good agency, but I wish they were open on Sundays. That would have made my booking experience easier.

Pros

  • Exceptional customer service
  • Over 39 years of experience
  • Multiple travel packages for events

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

Very helpful

“I booked a sports getaway for a Limerick game and a gent named Cillian could not have been more helpful, I’ve had a small delay receiving my tickets and the man could not have been more helpful, updated me every few hours absolute legend. Will be back to him”

Very helpful staff

“Very helpful staff. Lovely to deal with. We have just booked our 2nd Formula One Grand Prix with Cassidy travel and have had no issues at all. Very happy with the service”

2. Trailfinders

Contact Details: 316 777 888

Operating Hours:

  • Mon – Fri: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Sat: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Sun: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Website

Trailfinders is one of the top choices when I searched online for the best travel agencies in Dublin.

The first thing I noticed was the abundance of options. Clicking the options reveals a drop-down list that is so extensive it extends to the bottom of the screen.

Trailfinders also has numerous services to assist overseas travellers. They offer a visa service that facilitates the process of obtaining permission to enter specific countries, such as the United States.

The company also facilitates corporate travel with features such as transfers, lounge passes, car rentals, rail connections, and airport hotel bookings.

Those with eye and ear impairments can also secure assistance at airports, meet and greet services in some locations, and receive itineraries in large fonts.

Trailfinders claims to have over 54 years of experience, and after reviewing these numerous services, I believe it.

However, I would love it more if it had a simpler web layout. Navigating through the drop-down menus has been inconvenient, as it is easy to get lost in the interwoven lists.

Pros

  • Over 54 years of experience
  • Huge selection of services like travel insurance
  • Wide selection of tourist destinations

Cons

  • Website can be difficult to navigate

Everything went so smoothly

“Booked an Alaskan cruise with Ciarán,he listened to everything we wanted & put a package together for us. Our trip was amazing and good value. We were actually surprised everything went so smoothly as I’ve booked package cruises with other travel companies and have had a lot of hiccups.

Will definitely use them again very happy.”

Very knowledgeable and patient

“Had wonderful help from both Fearghal and Maeve when booking a holiday to SA. Both so knowledgeable and patient. Would recommend!”

Most of the travel agencies in Dublin are owned by companies outside of Dublin. That’s why I flashed a smile when I found Sunway.

They are a local travel agency that was founded in 1966. From its humble beginnings as a small travel agency in Blackrock, Co Dublin, it has grown into a global brand.

I also found that they have been earning numerous awards since 2015. The latest ones are from 2021, when ITTN Awards declared Sunway as the “Best European Sun Tour Operator” and the “Best Long-haul Tour Operator.”

I found that it has two aces up its sleeve to do this: tours and affordable, last-minute flights. Yes, Sunway delivers with last-minute flights and hotel packages starting at €300.

It’s essential for me for a travel agency to be available on weekends because that’s the only time I have free time. If you’re like me, note that Sunway is closed on Sundays and has limited availability on Saturdays.

Pros

  • Winner of multiple awards
  • Wide range of worldwide tours
  • Cheap, last-minute flights and hotels

Cons

  • Closed on Sundays

Helpful and stress-free

“We’ve just had a wonderful family week away in Pinhal Da Marina, Vilamoura. Our 1st holiday since the pandemic, we booked with Nikki, the Reservations Manager, she helped us pick the holiday to suit us all, the security of booking with Sunway made sure we were looked after start to finish. I can’t thank Nikki and Sunway enough for a wonderful, stress free holiday. Looking forward to our next Sunway holiday.”

Very helpful over the phone

“Very helpful over the phone & also the following day when I had some queries about the booking and was unable to login to access the booking.”

Abbey Travel was such a convenience when I needed to book a trip with my daughter.

I like that they claim to be “The Official Disneyland Paris Travel Agent in Ireland.”

I was able to book our week-long stay on a single platform, which included both the flight and hotel bookings.

Aside from the Disneyland assistance, Abbey Travel also provides travel options for those who want to relax and those who want to challenge themselves.

On one hand, they offer numerous cruise options for those who just want to float around on the open seas. It has some of the most attractive deals from Royal Caribbean, MSC, and Celebrity Cruises.

This travel agency offers adventure tours for the intrepid traveller. For example, you could take one of the Safari Cruises to get up close and personal with elephants, lions, and other apex predators.

One thing I’d like them to improve is their on-site local support. A few reports stated that they do not have representatives in the resorts to assist when issues arise.

Pros

  • Facilitates Disneyland Paris travel
  • Wide range of cruise options
  • Adventure holiday options

Cons

  • Lack of on-site local support
  • Closed on Sundays and bank holidays

Very informative, directly contactable

“Four weeks before a 6 Nations match in Rome I rang Abbey Travel to see if there would be any possible availability. Paul was able to put together the perfect package for us. He understood straight away what my parameters were and what would work for us. He was very informative, directly contactable, which was hugely useful. I will definitely be ringing Abbey next time we are planning a holiday, particularly a sports trip.”

Very willing and patient

“Travel agent Angela Abby Travel Nass. Very helpful. Following up with emails to keep me informed. Very willing and patient when I was asking questions. Have always travelled with Abbey Travel feel I can trust them.”

  • Closed on Saturdays and Sundays

Wallace Travel Group is one of the top travel agencies in Dublin, helping you explore the City of a Thousand Welcomes and the rest of Ireland. After booking them, I want to give them “a thousand thank-yous.”

I like that they offer different packages and tours. I was offered a guided stroll down The Big Smoke’s coastal villages, like Dalkey or Howth, and it didn’t disappoint.

I also like that they are “Iceland Specialists”. Yes, it means that if you want a holiday or tour centred on Iceland, they can accommodate you. In fact, many clients praised their knowledge.

Their weekend breaks are also impressive. These are their speciality, and it would sometimes look like: flights + hotel + transfer + free time + optional tours.

Unfortunately, they’re closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which made it difficult for me to book since I was only available on weekends.

Pros

  • Offers a closer look at Dublin’s culture
  • Known as “Iceland Specialists”
  • Impressive weekend break packages

Cons

  • Limited to Irish tourist destinations
  • No weekend operation

Simply brilliant

“From September 15th, 2019 to September 22nd, 2019 I traveled by bus with Wallace Travel Group in Ireland. It was outstanding. Our tour guide Alexandra Bellinghausen was simply brilliant. She gave us an incredible amount of information without making it boring. So you could save a lot. She was always friendly and had an ear for everyone. Bus driver Matt Kellegher was equally brilliant. A super good bus driver who was always friendly. All in all, I would happily vacation with Wallace Travel Group again. Highly recommended.

Doris Kossel”

I would like to recommend our agent
