Joining Our Forefathers At EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum
Many Irish people have long migrated to other countries, as far back as 500 AD. Even those from my own family haven’t stayed in Ireland permanently in recent years, as many have chosen to live in foreign countries for various reasons.
When I first heard of EPIC when it opened in 2016, I was sceptical, as it was owned by a private business. But when I had entered its halls, I wept as I saw many of my own people traversing the seas to settle in distant and foreign lands for salvation.
If you’re looking to learn or study the myriad of reasons why the Irish people have left their homeland, then EPIC is one of the best places to do so. We’ll provide you with an extensive guide and include a few tips to make your visit a truly memorable one.
What is EPIC Known for?
EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is a museum dedicated to telling the stories of Irish immigrants of all ages. Starting from the early 500 AD to the Diaspora of today, you’ll be given context and hear stories of their epic tales.
Best Time to Go to EPIC
We highly suggest visiting EPIC during its off-seasons, which are the fall, winter, or early spring. If you’re looking to visit in other seasons, we’d suggest heading there when it first opens on weekdays, as that is when there are fewer people.
