The 5 best podiatrists in Dublin specialising in foot and toenail health

  • Licensing and Accreditation: I selected podiatrists who hold proper licenses and accreditations with Podiatry Ireland.
  • Specialisations: I selected podiatrists who specialised in conditions like surgical podiatry and diabetic podiatry.
  • Quality of Equipment: I selected podiatrists who use up-to-date equipment. Based on my experience, a clinic with modernised equipment can provide a less painful and less invasive experience due to the use of lasers.
  • Clarity of Treatment Plans: I went for podiatrists who have clear treatment plans. Due to the confusing nature of podiatric treatment, those who can provide a clear explanation of the treatment plan were highly prioritised.
  • Insurance Policy and Payment Plans: I picked podiatrists whose procedures are covered by insurance or who provide payment plans.

My mother always struggled with bunions. After retiring, adjusting to a slower routine was already hard, but the pain in her feet made it worse. At one point, she wore heels everywhere just to ease the discomfort.

It wasn’t until a family friend suggested seeing a podiatrist that things began to change. With a proper treatment plan, her condition began to improve within weeks. Six months later, she could finally wear comfortable shoes again.

With her experience in mind, I’ve gathered a list of the best podiatrists in Dublin. These are recommended by family friends and my mother’s fellow patients. These specialists can help you treat your foot problems, allowing you to walk or even dance without pain.

How much does a visit to a podiatrist cost in Dublin?

Podiatrist visits in Dublin typically cost between €50 to €90 for the initial visit. Subsequent visits can be cheaper or more expensive depending on the clinic and any additional specialised assessments that are needed.

My Feet Podiatry Clinic has several clinics in Dublin, but its most popular one is located in Seafield. Whether you’re experiencing everyday aches or complex foot conditions, their team is one of the best in handling podiatry cases in the city.

Booking an appointment was easy, and we were met with compassion from the start. Just remember to call after booking, as the website may not always display the assigned clinic.

Their most important service is general foot care. This addresses everything from nail care to foot-related skin diseases. Their podiatrists solve these through either surgical or non-invasive means, depending on the case.

Additionally, they offer reliable diabetic foot care to patients. These utilise specialised treatments that work closely with GPs and dermatologists. Many patients have undergone these treatments and have experienced improvement since.

Their state-of-the-art 3D orthotic lab sets them apart when creating customised treatment plans. We saw this firsthand with my mother’s case, and it’s truly all-encompassing.

Pros

  • Has different clinics across Dublin
  • Easy booking process
  • Well-trained staff
  • Wide range of services
  • Unique 3D orthotic lab

Cons

  • Varied appointment locations

Located in Dublin 12, South Dublin Podiatry is ideal for those in the south seeking a modernised experience. Led by experts, diagnostics here are a breeze. Within hours, patients receive an accurate diagnosis from their in-house labs.

Services here are separated between the ankles and the feet. Their standout lower limb services include biomechanical examinations and gait analysis.

Their biomechanical examinations and gait analysis provide immediate diagnoses in just a few minutes. They utilise photos and videos to determine which diagnosis is most suitable for each patient’s case.

Their physicians are great at understanding which ailment affects a person’s toenails and skin. They utilise their in-house labs to provide an immediate diagnosis for patients.

Some patients who were treated for plantar warts and arthritis experienced relief from their pain during the same visit. This is the same experience with cracked feet and calluses.

However, keep in mind that their incredible services are expensive.

Pros

  • Works with most clients in South Dublin
  • Wide range of services
  • Large selection of treatments
  • Unique and accurate diagnostic process
  • Provides results within the first visit

Cons

  • Expensive services

My experience was lovely from the time I set foot into reception

“My experience was lovely from the time I set foot into reception. The girl there was professional and friendly. The reception area was inviting too. Alison looked after me and kept my mind occupied by chatting away to me while she dug an ingrown toenail out of my big toe. I felt great leaving with no pain. I would highly recommend anyone to visit if they have problems with their feet 100%”

For those in the north, Foot Focus is the right clinic for you. They work with cases from the ankle to the foot and are focused on providing tailored treatment plans for their patients.

The team can help you get diagnosed during your first visit. They utilise advanced technology, such as gait analysis, to understand which part of the foot is causing the pain.

Following the diagnostic process, they offer a wide range of treatments tailored to each individual’s specific needs. Typically, these will involve a rehab programme or hands-on treatment for pain. For cases like bunions, they utilise orthotic gait footwear to help correct them.

However, while you are given a diagnosis on the first day, most cases will take months before they’re resolved due to extensive treatment plans. Still, after having experienced this firsthand, I can say that their clinicians are thorough with their work.

Chiropody, on the other hand, is where conditions like warts or verrucae come into play. Patients have said that these were treated with a variety of painless methods, like cryotherapy or laser surgery, that gave instant relief.

Pros

  • Tailored treatment plans
  • Utilises advanced diagnostic technology
  • Wide variety of treatment options
  • Offers chiropody treatments
  • Utilises painless methods

Cons

  • Treatment can take months

I thought the price was very affordable

“I recently visited this clinic for an ingrown toenail procedure and I can’t recommend them enough. Everyone was so welcoming and really put me at ease as I was feeling very nervous. The clinic itself is spotless. The procedure was explained clearly, carried out with great care and it was much easier than I had anticipated. Considering everything that was included, I thought the price was very affordable as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if I ever need to.”

She fixed everything up and told me everything I needed to know

“Went for some pain on a black nail, I didn’t really know what was wrong with it or why it was black. I was placed with Molly near the end of the day. She was very kind and told me what was hapening with the nail. She then told me what she will do before doing it and she fixed everything up and told me everything I need to know. Very recommended”

FootCare focuses solely on the feet. Primarily, patients have come here for a variety of toenail and skin-related issues, most of which are resolved within a couple of visits.

Patients visit this clinic to treat fungal and thickened toenails. The treatments are effective and, in some cases, provide lasting relief. They use different chemicals to remove these nails and provide other treatments to help them grow healthier.

FootCare also works with ingrown and hard-to-cut toenails, and they remove them more effectively than a typical nail salon.

They even employ conventional methods to cut them and use chemicals for more challenging cases. As a matter of fact, patients’ toenails grew healthier after the treatment.

They utilise minimal surgical methods to remove corns or cracked heels. I’ve personally undergone this, and it wasn’t painful at all.

On the other hand, for patients suffering from ankle pain, I’d suggest looking for a different clinic since they don’t treat them here.

Pros

  • Wide range of foot-related treatments
  • Focuses on nail and toe-related ailments
  • Utilises modern techniques
  • Solves issues within a couple of sessions
  • Uses minimal surgical methods

Cons

  • Focuses on foot-related problems

I would highly recommend the clinic to anybody

“I got a cancellation appointment yesterday for my son who had a very painful toenail. We were so happy with the service and how enthusiastic and passionate the podiatrist was. She explained everything to my son and said she could try sort issue there and then. My son agreed and 30 seconds later the issue was sorted. We were so lucky to get this appointment and would highly recommend the clinic to anybody.”

When you want to feel like you’re on a spa day on a podiatry visit, the Cure Spa is for you. Patients always feel pampered during the entire visit, and I love that the place genuinely feels like a spa.

While they’re a fairly new clinic, their treatments are known for bridging the gap between medical podiatry and aesthetic nail care. Their services are split between three categories: podiatry services, hand care, and foot care.

I was surprised to learn that they utilise the latest technologies, such as 3D orthotics. This helped many patients relieve foot pain and correct foot misalignment.

They also offer non-surgical treatment for ingrown toenails and can install toenail bracing to correct the condition. I’ve undergone this treatment and I’m surprised at how well it worked.

Pedicures and manicures are available here under the latter two categories, which are done by podiatrists.

However, due to their popularity, getting an appointment here will be difficult.

Pros

  • Combines clinical and aesthetic podiatry
  • Wide range of treatments
  • Utilises modern technologies
  • Works with hands and feet
  • Provides unique clinical pedicures

Cons

  • Difficult to get an appointment

I cannot recommend Cure Spa enough for 3D orthotics

“I cannot recommend Curespa enough for 3D orthotics. Niall is extremely informed and knowledgable in his podiatry practice and his level of client care goes way beyond similar practices I have been to over the years. I have recommended Curespa to a number of friends who have also received the same level of care and attention. Thank you to Niall and the team for providing such a great level of service.”

Excellent podiatry consultations

“I have gone a few times to cure spa & cannot recommend it enough. I have had excellent podiatry consultations with Niall & he is fantastic with his knowledge, care & treatment. I also greatly appreciated his advice with my daughter’s feet & he guided me to inexpensive treatments that worked. I have continued to get clinical pedicures here & feel safe knowing that the cleanliness & hygiene is beyond anything you find in a regular nail salon. Again highly recommend this salon for all podiatry & foot spa treatments.”
