Stable fuseboxes with the top 5 electricians in Dublin

  • Licensing and Certification: I went for electricians who have proper licensing and certifications. Dublin requires all electricians to be registered at City Hall to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations for every electrical project.
  • Specialisations: I chose electricians with specialised skills to ensure each task—whether appliance repair or rewiring—is handled by an expert.
  • Insurance and Warranty: I chose electricians who have excellent insurance and a strong track record of handling warranty claims.
  • Pricing: I prioritised electricians who offer clear pricing. Hiring them is already expensive, and I didn’t want to seal with any hidden fees.
  • Availability: I went for an electrician who is available for emergency services. I couldn’t predict when I would need an electrician, so having one on call was highly convenient.

I’m absolutely terrified of electrical work. When I lived with my parents, we always had our dad do everything. It was something I had never had any experience with.

It was only when I moved out that I realised how much electrical work becomes a part of your life. Whether you have a grounded socket or faulty appliances, these issues require more than a quick online search.

Rather than risking an electrical fire, I’d rather leave it to a licensed electrician. Since then, I’ve rounded up the best electricians in Dublin, ready to fix problems in a flash.

How much do electricians charge in Dublin?

Electricians in Dublin typically charge between €90 to €180 per hour. The cost will increase or decrease depending on the severity of the job, the type of work required, and the materials needed for the job.

When working on smaller electrical problems, Mr Fuseboard is the one I tend to call. While they can’t work on big projects, they’re certainly reliable when it comes to smaller problems, and they’re also cost-efficient.

Even so, their list of services is quite extensive. I’ve personally hired them for several electrical installations, and they even installed my chandelier and handled all the rewiring.

They were extremely handy when it came to emergency power outage repairs. It’s thanks to them that I’ve saved quite a few appliances that short-circuited due to surprise power outages.

They were even the ones to do the electrical inspections when we had renovated one of our storage rooms into an office. Providing us with the proper certifications that we presented to City Hall.

For electrical work outside the home, they’re open to installing outdoor lights and security technology, such as CCTVs. The best part? All of their services are available at any time of the day.

Pros

  • Specialises in small electrical problems
  • Cost-efficient service
  • Offers electrical inspections with certificates
  • Works on outdoor electrical installations
  • 24-hour service

Cons

  • Doesn’t work on larger projects

Friendly and respectful team

“We contacted Johnny from Mr Fuseboard Electrical in July 2025.

From the very first interaction, Johnny was very friendly, respectful and professional. His communication was very straightforward and he was brilliant at following through. We had Johnny and Joseph in our home that same month and they did a great job installing everything we needed to bring electricity to our back garden shed, including future proofing it.

We highly recommend Mr Fuseboard Electrical and we’ll definitely be using their services again in the future.

Thank you Johnny and team for everything!

Niall & Monica”

Top quality

“Highly recommend South Dublin Electricians. Not the cheapest but you pay for top quality and the service I got was just that – top quality. Wired up my a new shed for me with sockets and baton lighting on a separate external circuit from the main fuse box (my preference) and made safe and removed old wiring which had compromised internal kitchen circuit safety. very neat job and very professional service. Came out to inspect and price job first, then after work was carried out (I was only waiting just over a week) the lads came back to double check everything after a power cut in the area and they were back again shortly after to do a final circuit test and provide safety certificate for the work. All in all an excellent service and worth the little bit extra.”

Unique Electrical Limited tries to provide simple solutions to electrical problems. Working with domestic and commercial clients, they provide their services across Dublin for anyone who might need them.

Their electricians focus on safety, efficiency, and quality (I couldn’t help but agree!). With free quotations, I was able to set great expectations for their work.

Aside from the usual light and socket installations, I also appreciate that they offer home alarm installations and fuse board upgrades that others don’t provide. Uniquely, they even install EV chargers for homes and businesses.

Personally, it’s their extensive periodic inspections that sold me. Their electricians are thorough and saved me from accidental electrical problems with old appliances.

I even recommended them to friends in Kildare, Meath, and Wicklow, as they also extend their services to those counties.

However, there are reports of delays when working on larger projects.

Cons

  • Potential delays for larger projects

Brilliant to deal with

“Patrick and team were brilliant to deal with. I rang looking to get a cooker switch replaced and he scheduled a next day service. John arrived on time at 7:30 and was able to get the work done and also fixed another faulty socket while on site, all before my own workday started. I will definitely be using Unique Electrical for future work and upgrades and highly recommend them.”

Communication and punctuality were first-class

“I am very impressed with the work carried out recently at my house by Unique Electrical. I had a resistance insulation test completed in advance of further work involving meter tails and an earth rod which will be done shortly. Damian explained the process in great detail at the outset and the work was done very efficiently and professionally by James. Communication and punctuality was first class from start to finish. This is top quality customer service from this company and it’s a pleasure to do business with them.”
