1. Dublin Salsa Academy

dublin-salsa-academy

Website:https://www.dublinsalsacademy.com/
Address: Harbourmaster, Custom House Quay, IFSC
Contact: +353 83 399 9187
Hours: Monday-Tuesday, 6:30 –  11:00  PM | Wednesday, 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM

Dublin Salsa Academy is a strong choice if you’re specifically interested in salsa or bachata rather than a broad mix of dance styles.

Their program covers Cuban Salsa, Line Salsa and Sensual Bachata, with classes progressing from complete beginner through Level 5. The academy also runs socials after evening classes, giving students a chance to practise what they’ve learned.

We like that no partner is required, as students rotate partners during lessons. That makes this dance studio particularly approachable for solo beginners who might otherwise hesitate to sign up.

On top of that, drop-in classes are available, while private lessons provide a more personalised option.

Unfortunately, this dance studio is especially suited to adults who want to combine structured lessons with a social experience, and classes generally take place at night.

Pros

  • Cuban Salsa, Line Salsa and Sensual Bachata
  • Beginner through advanced levels
  • Private lessons available
  • Regular post-class socials

Cons

  • Classes generally take place at night
  • Especially suited to adults only

Very good classes

Amazing academy, they teach 3 styles, Line Salsa, Cuban Salsa and Bachata. They have very good classes for all levels that are 3 times a week and have socials almost every weekend and also on the 3 days after the classes. The instructors are very friendly and helpful and you can learn a lot in just a few weeks. I started out as a beginner here with no sense of dancing but the instructors were patient and helpful have helped me get better. Also a great crowd so you can make friends while dancing.

100 % recommended

Great place for dancing and learning Cuban salsa, in line salsa and bachata. 100 % recommended. Abel, Noe, and the rest of the staff will help you to elevate your dance to the next level and furthermore!

Address: Unit CSA 2.5, Building 9, Dundrum Town Centre
Contact: 086 172 2272
Hours: Wednesday-Friday, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Saturday, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Miss Ali Stage School focuses on children’s dance and performing arts, offering classes in musical theatre, jazz, ballet, and commercial dance for children from age four. This makes them a good option for parents looking for structured dance training for kids.

Students here can develop choreography, improvization, flexibility, coordination and performance skills as they progress through the program.

Then they can progress according to their age and ability, while the school also provides opportunities to perform.

Just know that the dance studio requires students to wear uniforms for classes, so parents should factor this into their preparations when enrolling.

Also, they don’t offer refunds or replacement classes even in an “act of God” situation, such as disruptive weather.

Pros

  • Musical theatre, jazz, ballet and commercial dance
  • Classes from age four
  • Structured progression by age and ability
  • Performance opportunities

Cons

Fantastic dance studio

My daughter has been attending The Miss Ali Stage School for 3 years and she absolutely loves it. Fantastic dance studio and a wonderful learning environment – Miss Ali makes learning fun and the kids follow. She is an extraordinary teacher that not only teaches students choreography, drama, singing, discipline but also passes a sense of commitment and an ability of appreciation for long lasting friendships. I feel very grateful to have discovered this remarkable studio, and look forward to many more years of being part of it! Can’t wait to see how much my daughter will progress in the future!

Miss Ali is excellent with all of the children

For both classes and birthday parties, Miss Ali’s is wonderful! Miss Ali is excellent with all of the children  and very dedicated to making sure each and every one of them has a great time. She has so much experience and really knows how to work best with all types of kids. The children always leave her studio smiling! The studio itself is also great – really good space and beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for a stage school or for a different idea for a birthday party.

WestSide Performing Arts caters to dancers who want more than recreational classes. They mainly offer pre-professional, examination, competition, performance, recreational, and technique programs.

Their pre-professional training goes further, with a strong focus on technique through Graham, Cunningham, and Limón styles, as well as dance composition, analysis, and repertoire.

As for dance classes, they cover ballet, lyrical, contemporary, commercial, and jazz. These sessions run for 2.5 to three hours and include individual feedback, progress reports, and mentoring.

Dance Ireland is a different proposition from a conventional dance school. Here, their DanceHouse facility provides six professional studios for rehearsals, classes, residencies, auditions, filming, photoshoots and creative development.

The studios have sprung flooring, professional sound systems and Wi-Fi, with spaces ranging from standard to large. This makes the facility particularly useful for dancers and creative professionals who need dedicated rehearsal space.

They’re not just a rental facility, either, since they offer public classes in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, giving dancers a chance to train there too!

However, the class schedule isn’t as extensive as some other options, with only one class available on certain days.
