The 5 best fertility clinics in Dublin that bring hope to families

  • Licensing and Certification: I sought fertility clinics that have the appropriate licenses and certifications. Specifically, I looked for specialists who have Assisted Human Reproduction Ireland (AHRA) licenses.
  • Experience and Expertise: I visited fertility clinics that have experience handling different types of infertility, such as those caused by polyps.
  • Range of Treatments: I chose fertility clinics that offer a range of treatments. Specifically, I chose those that offer more than traditional IVF, such as ICSI and IVM.
  • Success Rates: I highly prioritised fertility clinics with high success rates. This assured me that the clinic has proven expertise and a consistent record of successful treatments.
  • Pricing Transparency: I selected fertility clinics with transparent pricing. While fertility procedures are expensive, they shouldn’t come with hidden fees or wrong transactions.
  • Duration of Treatment: I considered the duration of treatment when selecting a fertility clinic. Those with a shorter duration with a high success rate were highly appreciated.

My sister was always reserved when talking about her struggles to get pregnant in her early years of marriage. Each failed attempt left her feeling defeated and desperate to conceive.

Before she gave up, I suggested visiting fertility clinics. These are places renowned for compassionate care and expert guidance, offering hope throughout the journey.

So, for women questioning their womanhood or longing for a child, this guide is for you. Here are the best fertility clinics in Dublin that can help you overcome your challenges and bring you closer to the baby you’ve been praying for.

How much does it cost to see a fertility specialist in Dublin?

It typically costs between €4,000 to €6,000 to see a fertility specialist in Dublin. This doesn’t cover additional services, such as fertility testing and IVF treatment, which can increase the price of each visit.

Sims IVF Clonskeagh makes the fertility process easy with their advanced fertility care services. Making an appointment and getting a general enquiry are easy, since I was able to do both on their website.

They have a long list of services too, but the first one new patients will undergo is their fertility test. My husband and I underwent this test for 12 months.

They offer comprehensive classic IVF treatment, as well as more modern forms like ICSI and IUI, which are more direct and precise in their approach.

I also appreciate that they accommodate same-sex couples, offering access to sperm and egg banks along with mandatory counselling before using a donor’s material.

Additionally, the clinic’s donor programme makes it easy for individuals to donate eggs or sperm. Donors are compensated between €7,900 and €9,900—among the highest rates available in Ireland.

However, I did find their overall fertility procedures to be on the pricier side compared to other clinics, even after factoring in their paid donation programme.

Pros

  • Advanced fertility care services
  • Comprehensive fertility tests
  • Inclusive fertility options
  • Modern fertility treatments
  • Options for same-sex couples
  • Sperm and egg donations

Cons

  • Expensive fertility procedures

The Willows Clinic utilises holistic and comprehensive treatments to help with fertility treatments. For those looking for non-IVF treatment solutions, their treatment plans utilise a mixture of herbal supplements to help with the treatment.

A friend of mine committed to their procedure and underwent 12 sessions of acupuncture and reflexology, which helped with the stabilisation of the eggs. These were conducted once a week and included additional blood tests.

Treatment typically takes three months to complete, and most patients have reported that this holistic approach has had a profoundly positive impact on their well-being. My friend mentioned that it was a relaxing process that allowed her to better accept her situation.

The kindness and warmth shown by their nurses and doctors—especially Andrew and Michal—are highly praised by many patients.

However, since these are holistic practices, there’s no absolute guarantee that they will work for everyone.

Pros

  • Focuses on holistic treatment
  • Comprehensive treatment plans
  • 12-week-long fertility sessions
  • Utilisation of herbal supplements
  • Caring and attentive nurses and doctors

Cons

  • No guarantee of success
  • No guarantee of success

I’ve no doubt they were a huge part of my success

“I attended the Willows Clinic for a number of years throughout my fertility journey. The care I received from Irene, Andrew and Michal was outstanding and I cannot recommend them enough. I had a long journey with my fertility and IVF and many ups and downs. The knowledge and support from all was amazing and I put my full faith in the process and believed that I would get pregnant with there guidance which I did with our little miracle and I cannot thank them enough for this as I’ve no doubt they were a huge part of my success. Irene is always available for support and a listening ear which you would never get anywhere else. Thank you for everything I loved my weekly visits and recommend anyone on a fertility journey and feeling lost to attend the Willows Clinic.”

They are brilliant at guiding you through your journey

“I attended the Willows clinic since 2019 for fertility issues. I received acupuncture and reflexology treatments from Irene, Andrew and Michal. Thanks to their support, advice and help, we welcomed a beautiful health baby boy in November 2022 after 4 years of IVF. I always enjoyed my Tuesday night sessions as I knew I was in great hands. They are brilliant at guiding you through your journey and will be a sounding board, offer an ear to listen or give you hope when things don’t go as you wished. I would highly recommend the Willow Clinic to anyone going through a similar journey.”

Beacon Care Fertility provides personalised support for everyone’s journey to parenthood. Their world-class medical expertise is paired with cutting-edge fertility technology to create the best chances for a successful conception.

The personalised treatment plans are comprehensive and are developed in consultation with their consultants. These comprised different tests, such as comprehensive miscarriage analysis and male fertility analysis.

When dealing with fertility treatments, there are the general IVF options. These options are available in both private and publicly funded forms, which is perfect for people like me on a budget.

Their egg-freezing procedure is also highly recommended. There are also artificial insemination options, which some clients claim really helped them.

As for LGBTQ+ individuals and single women, there are dedicated programmes for these groups. Many patients appreciate that their approach is inclusive and comprehensive.

The only downside is that they focus mainly on IVF as their primary treatment, making their options a bit limited compared to other clinics.

Pros

  • Personalised treatment plans
  • Comprehensive fertility testing
  • Extensive IVF options
  • Artificial insemination option
  • Inclusive services for LGBTQ+ and single women

Cons

  • Limited treatment options

I’m so grateful for the compassion

“Excellent Experience at Beacon Fertility Clinic!

From my very first consultation right through to my early scan, my experience with Beacon Fertility Clinic has been exceptional. Every visit was genuinely a good experience — the atmosphere was calm and reassuring, and the women at reception were always so warm, welcoming, and friendly. They really set the tone for how caring the whole team is.

Throughout the process, everyone I dealt with was professional, kind, and supportive. No question was ever too small, and everything was always explained clearly, which really put me at ease. The clinic’s online portal was also so convenient for accessing forms, documents, and prescriptions whenever I needed them.

I felt cared for and respected every step of the way. I’m so grateful for the compassion and professionalism of the entire team at Beacon Fertility Clinic, and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.”

Merrion Fertility Clinic understands the uniqueness of every person’s fertility journey and aims to cater to each individual’s ambitions and experiences. Unlike other clinics, their price lists are available on their website, which I greatly appreciate.

To support women on their fertility journey, they offer top-notch financial support through private companies. This is a lifesaver for those like me who are on a budget.

Unlike other clinics, they begin the journey with follicle tracking. It’s a faster way to assess a mother’s womb and eggs.

When dealing with the fertility aspect, there are a few options. The most common is their OI treatment, which injects fertility drugs into women. There’s also the IUI treatment, which injects specially prepared sperm directly into the uterus.

For lab-grown treatments, they have IVF and ICSI. I appreciate that ICSI is more precise, which typically yields better results. I also highly value their supportive surrogacy programme. I can attest that it is best for women who truly can’t conceive.

However, despite their extensive services, they don’t have options for single women or for LGBTQ+ folk.

Pros

  • Price lists are available online
  • Offers financial support
  • Unique follicle tracking tests
  • Wide range of fertility options
  • Unique ICSI fertility treatment
  • Supportive surrogacy programme

Cons

  • No options for single women or LGBTQ+

I felt completely at ease in their care

“My partner and I have been on a fertility journey for the past four years. I chose Merrion Fertility Clinic for its strong reputation, and it proved to be the right decision. The medical team is exceptionally professional, well-organised, and communication was seamless. Their online portal made it easy to get quick responses to all my questions throughout both treatments.

Fertility treatment can be a stressful experience, but I felt completely at ease in their care. We were successful on our second attempt and are now blessed with a beautiful baby girl. I’m deeply grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend Merrion to any couple considering this journey.”

5. Thérapie Fertility Clinic

Thérapie Fertility Clinic offers one-time payment options for its treatments. They have two main packages that include all other tests and procedures. The only difference is the main fertility treatment they use.

These can also be paid through a monthly payment plan, which is great for families who can’t afford to pay the one-time fee. But compared to others, this clinic is by far the most expensive option due to its more comprehensive packages.

Still, unlike other clinics, Thérapie Fertility’s testing facilities are much more comprehensive. I was impressed that they utilise hormone and HyCoSy testing to better understand each patient.

Their main fertility treatments are comprised of the IVF and ICSI treatments. Patients can also opt for a combined treatment of both. However, this is their most expensive option and is fairly experimental compared to their separate counterparts.

Additionally, husbands can readily donate sperm or have it surgically retrieved for use in procedures such as IVF and ICSI treatments for their wives.

Pros

  • Treatments come in packages
  • Payment plan options
  • Comprehensive fertility testing for both sexes
  • IVF and ICSI treatment plans
  • Combined IVF and ICSI treatment plan
  • Eggs and embryos can be frozen
  • Sperm can be donated

Cons

  • Expensive treatments

Grateful to the team at Thérapie for making our dreams come true

“I traveled to Ireland from the United States after 4.5 of infertility and expensive IUI treatments. We wanted to pursue IVF but didn’t want to pay the $35,000 dollars it would have costed here in our state. Round trip airfare (twice as we had to go back later for a frozen transfer), lodging with a friend and all the medications cost us about $12,500. So less than half of what it would be here in the U.S. Other than the timezones, it was fairly easy to manage getting monitoring in my state from a private practice OBGYN and sending those records to the doctors at Therapie.

We ended up with two embryos (out of my 10 mature eggs/7 fertilized) and had a successful transfer with our first embryo. He is now a brilliant 6 month old that is already saying 3 words and nearly walking. We joke that we got a GMO baby when people think he’s older than he is (we are just a very tall family).

Grateful to the team at Therapie for making our dreams come true. We love being parents, he fills our world with so much joy.

With love,

Max and Meagan (and Row)”

Wonderful experience from start to finish

“I want to thank everyone in Thérapie for my wonderful experience from start to finish. Last year on the 27th of August I walked into their Dundalk clinic and spoke with Amy, she answered every question I had and I left with such hope, knowing I didn’t need to look anywhere else, this clinic was for me. Everyone at every stage of this journey I’m so grateful for. This year on the 27th of August I welcomed my beautiful daughter into the world, as a single mother by choice, after suffering heartbreaking losses long the way. I couldn’t have done it without Thérapie and the team. I would happily recommend them to anyone needing assistance on their fertility journey.”
