Inside this museum, I had thought I would find historical treasures that needed to be kept secret in a box. Instead, what I came across were knick-knacks and paraphernalia that came from the lives of anyone and everyone in Dublin City.

We suggest visiting The Little Museum of Dublin on a weekday morning, as the museum tends to have fewer people on those days. If visiting on a weekend, we’d suggest heading there as early as 10:00 AM when the museum has just opened.

Bike:. You can easily head through the same roads we discussed in the car section when heading to The Little Museum of Dublin via bike. We would suggest parking at St. Stephen’s Green instead, as there is free bike parking there.
As for Dublin Bikes, there are four stations that are close to the museum. One is located at Dawson Street, the other at Frederick Street, and the other two are at St. Stephen’s Green West and East. They’re all a short walk to the museum.
Luas Tram System: There are two Luas stops close to The Little Museum of Dublin. These stops are Dawson Luas Stop and St. Stephen’s Green Stop, both of which are on the Green Line.
Taxi: You can easily take a taxi to The Little Museum of Dublin as it’s located in Dublin City Centre. This would be a good choice if you’re coming from anywhere outside the city centre. A small reminder that this will be an expensive option, so be warned.

The Famous Guided Tour is the main tour of The Little Museum of Dublin. With this tour, you’ll find yourself exploring all of the current and temporary exhibits at the museum with one of their reliable and experienced tour guides.
They do allow you to enter the museum 10 minutes before entry time, so you can peruse the exhibits close to the museum’s entrance. They highly suggest that you book your admission online as there are limited slots per tour.

The Little Walking Tour isn’t a tour of The Little Museum of Dublin, but is in fact a tour of its neighbouring cultural site: St. Stephen’s Green. This tour will start at the Little Museum of Dublin and will take you through the history of St. Stephen’s Green.
Be reminded that availing of this tour does not grant you access to The Little Museum of Dublin. You will only meet your guide there before heading to the park for the actual tour.

The Ultimate Experience is a combination of the first two tours we discussed. Unlike the other two, this tour can only be availed at a certain time every day, so you will have to be on time for this one.
The main reason you’d choose this tour is primarily due to the discount it provides, rather than availing of the previous tours separately. You’ll also have the opportunity for a self-guided tour of the museum on any day of the same week you visit.

The Arran Henderson Walking Tour is a unique, limited-time experience at The Little Museum of Dublin. Instead of being a tour about Dublin’s past through its citizens, it’s a tour that will take you through the architectural heritage of Dublin City.
Arran is a passionate local historian, and each of the three dates stated above has a unique tour attached to it. These tours tackle either Temple Bar or actors, playwrights, and performers, or Dublin’s ancient and vanished parish churches, respectively.

The Big Little Treasure Hunt is a fun activity for kids, couples, and families. In this experience, you’ll be given a treasure map of St. Stephen’s Green, and you’ll get to answer riddles and questions about Dublin’s famous park.
This experience will give you a fun time and will teach you more about Irish history. They also offer discounts for groups of 10 or more. Unfortunately, this ticket doesn’t grant you access to the museum.
Exhibits at The Little Museum of Dublin
There are currently five different exhibits located at The Little Museum of Dublin. These exhibits are a mix of permanent and temporary ones, so what is listed here might not be there when you visit in the future. These are the exhibits available in 2025.
History Of The Little Museum
The History of The Little Museum of Dublin is a new exhibit that came after the recent renovation of the museum. This exhibit showcases the history of the museum, as well as the endless donations of people throughout its history.
The exhibit is also known as Who’s Who, as it celebrates everyone who has ever been a part of the museum as either a guest, staff, or just someone passing by. It’s a celebration of Dublin and is a beloved sight to see when visiting the museum.
The Entertainers
The Entertainers exhibit gives a spotlight to the many entertainers who have graced Dublin throughout its history. Whether big or small, these people are celebrated for their achievements and for their contributions to Dublin’s rich culture.
A few highlights of the exhibit are Sara Allgood, Noel Purcell, and Jimmy O’Dea. It also features movie stars such as Maureen O’Hara and Peter O’Toole, and even non-Irish entertainers, such as John Hurt and Daniel Day-Lewis.
U2: Made in Dublin
The U2 exhibit showcases one of the most iconic rock bands in history. U2 was formed in Dublin and has called it its home. As such, The Little Museum of Dublin celebrates this local treasure in one of its latest exhibits.
Again, we must remind you that this is a fan-curated museum. Many of the paraphernalia that can be found here were graciously donated by fans all over Dublin who wanted to celebrate and memorialise this fantastic band.

Little Pyg is a lovely pizza place that’s owned by pizza maestro Enzo Coccia. It has a unique Georgian courtyard setting and has a bustling atmosphere that’ll make you fall in love with the place.
We’d highly recommend their Carbonara Pizza and their Summer Caprese Pizza. Both are unique pizzas that you won’t see anywhere else, and are extremely rich and creamy, especially the carbonara one.

Di Luca is a beloved Italian restaurant that has been serving Dublin since 2016. They have some great Italian food that pairs beautifully with their wide selection of wines, and the restaurant itself has a great atmosphere that’s perfect for dining.
The star of the show here is their Amatriciana pasta. The simple plum tomato sauce pairs wonderfully with the guanciale. The pasta of choice, being mezzi rigatoni, is spot on, as the shape is a perfect vessel for the sauce.

The Grayson is the perfect place to host a wonderful lunch or dinner party, whichever you prefer. Its Georgian-style building is highlighted by the beautiful ivy growing on it and offers a unique experience to its guests.
While it may sound simple, the fresh cod and chips is a great choice when heading here for lunch. The cod is flaky and goes great with the chunky tartare. The side of mushy peas is fantastic, and the chips are cooked to perfection.

Harcourt Hotel is a lovely Georgian brick townhouse that provides straightforward service. Its rooms are classy and elegant, and they have some of the softest beds in Dublin. Of course, they have Wi-Fi and other modern amenities that you may need.
This hotel is great for those who want to fully utilise Dublin’s public transport. It’s a very short walk to a Luas Stop and has several bus routes travelling nearby. They also have a nightclub, which you can’t really find anywhere else.

Number 31 is a wonderful bed-and-breakfast that mixes Georgian architecture with contemporary designs. It has polished and sophisticated rooms that are affordable and comfortable. They also have en suite bathrooms and tea and cookies on arrival.
